A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of attending Madison and Zach’s wedding as my friend Sarah Warmker‘s photography assistant. Madison, a lawyer by trade and abstract painter by hobby, was just as friendly and kind as she was radiant on her big day. Zach, an exceptionally talented guitarist and friend of a friend, was calm and collected. Together, they seemed blissfully in love and entirely committed to one another.
Madison and Zach wed in a small field across from her parents’ historic home in Muskogee, Oklahoma, underneath a seventy-year-old tree house that Madison played in as a child. Her aunt and uncle officiated the unconventional ceremony. Their vows, both simple and profound, were promises “to keep my side of the balance”. I felt honored to experience their wedding, which was authentic, unique, beautiful—but not extravagant—a perfectly fitting representation of their love.
