After toiling away on the book for over two years and double-triple-quadruple-octuple-checking every recipe for every tiny detail, I’m completely thrilled and blown away by your enthusiasm for the book. Thank you!

- Tell your friends and family about it! In person or online. Or better yet, make them a recipe from the book and tell them where you got it.
- Give the book as a gift! It’s very reasonably priced on Amazon right now. Give it to veggie lovers (or to someone who should maybe eat more vegetables), dog lovers, and to new and experienced home cooks. Everyone, basically.
- Look for the book in your local bookstores—if it’s not there, ask them to start carrying it! If it is there, move a few copies to a more prominent location. (I’ve done that, no shame.)
- Could you spare a few minutes to write a review with your experience of the book? Those reviews go a long way in the long-term success of the book, and I am so grateful for your kind words. We had what seems like 5 minutes of sun this week, so I took a photo of these yummy muffins outdoors. These blueberry maple muffins are from Kathryne Taylor’s new cookbook, Love Real Food. I’m taking these to work on the plane tomorrow for breakfast, or perhaps a little snack. They are a healthier muffin, but more importantly, with 1 cup of blueberries in the batter, you get a blueberry in every bite. Yum! There are lots of wonderful, uncomplicated recipes in her book, many of which I plan to make and bring with me to work on the plane. Yeay! Love Real Food by @cookieandkate is HERE! ✨ Funny story. I pre-ordered this book months ago, and my mom has this obsession with Cookie and Kate. So, naturally, when I pre-ordered the book, I ordered one for her too. It was coincidence that it arrived just after Mother’s Day. ✨ Yesterday evening my mom called me to ask if I had sent her the book – she got gotten her copy in the mail. “Yep – Happy Mother’s Day!” I cheered. “Amie, that is SO FUNNY. In February I pre-ordered the book and I got TWO – one for me and one for you! But I had them both shipped to my house, so when I opened the package and there was only one book I thought amazon had made a mistake. But when I looked on my order tracking, it hadn’t even been shipped yet! WE BOTH BOUGHT EACH OTHER THE SAME BOOK!” So now we have two extra copies of Love Real Food and we think it’s just hilarious. Like mother, like daughter. It’s a great gift, Kate! Thanks for a beautiful book. I can’t wait to make some of this delicious food!
Quinoa-Stuffed Sweet Potatoes served to eight last night. Such a simple and satisfying meal. Adults loved it. Kids tried it but opted to eat only the sweet potato. Chili powder & cinnamon-spiced roasted carrots, on a bed of lemon vinaigrette-dressed arugula and wild rice, topped with toasted pistachios, golden raisins and crumbled feta recipe from @cookieandkate’s new cookbook Love Real Food (p 62) The only change I made was to double the arugula #wots4dinner
Most of the images I create are for online use, so it’s always a treat when I get to see my work in print. I was honored to work with @cookieandkate to create a few images of her and her sweet pup for her new cookbook, #loverealfood. Her blog is my go-to for when I am looking for new ways to incorporate more veggies into my diet. This book is full of color and tons of beautiful photos she shot herself. Matty made this carrot-wild rice-arugula salad tonight from the Love Real Food cookbook I got him for Father’s Day (selfish gift because I totally wanted it too and so far I’ve been the beneficiary of some amazing meals). It was incredible, one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time – and it was so quick and easy to make! We also had some delicious sweet potato quinoa black bean burgers earlier this week from the same book. And Charlie’s been loving the meals, too! Wins all around #loverealfood

5 ingredient super soft peanut butter cookies! ♡ NO FLOUR NECESSARY. from my fave @cookieandkate and her new all vegetarian, all real food cookbook. all you need is peanut butter, eggs, coconut sugar (or brown sugar), salt, and vanilla. they are crackly/salty on top and super soft and chewy and life changing on the inside. . INGREDIENTS • 2 cups lightly packed coconut sugar • 2 eggs • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract • 1/4 teaspoon salt • 1 16-ounce jar creamy peanut butter (1 1/4 cups) • 1 cup chocolate chips . make them tiny so they bake all the way through – like 25-30 for the whole batch (recipe says 40 but I like mine to be XL/tiny) ☺️ . this video was shot while the cookies were still warm, but I looove these stored in the fridge so they’re cold but still soft and chewy when you eat them. they’ve become a major summer essential in our life and we keep a bag in the freezer at the studio at all times. . recipe is from the new Love Real Food cookbook by my friend Kathryne @cookieandkate which is amazing and you should get it! also her insta account has tons of amazing vegetarian recipes and cute dog photos going on over there for those of you who are into that kinda thing. Kale and Quinoa Salad with Crisp Celery, Plumped Cranberries, and Lemon Dressing from the NEW #LoveRealFood cookbook by @cookieandkate !!! I know you might be thinking: a kale salad? Really, Melanie? Don’t you eat those all the time? Well, yes, I do. But this one is different! I’m always looking for ways to reinvent the kale salad and the crunchy celery and sliced almonds in this one makes the texture perfect! Oddly enough, I was almost out of kale so supplemented with a bit of some red leaf lettuce so that I’d have enough to share with my mom. The salad was great on its own but I also added chickpeas to make it more of a meal. Mmm! Totally making this again!
